Vietnamese tourism came second in the “Go Asia Award – Most popular destination in Asia” at Germany ‘s 2013 International Tourism Exchange (ITB) Berlin , according to the Vietnam NationalAdministration of Tourism (VNAT) on March 12.

(VOV) - The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines is offering a 27 percent discount off ticket prices for a number of flights to selected European nations.

Under the sale, a return ticket from Vietnam to Frankfurt or London costs only US$550, and to Paris at US$600 (both prices exclude fees and taxes).  The discount programme is in effect from now until March 30.

The US Travel Advisory List is not a likely source of travel inspiration for most people, but for the more audacious traveler it certainly can be. About 30km from Da Nang is a  small and peaceful town call Hoi An where tourists might be fascinated at the first sight. Originally known as Faifo, this antique town is surrounded on its southern side by the Thu Bon River, along which there are lots of of small cafes and local restaurants. Although Hoi An is now a tourist haven, the artistic atmosphere and local people make a warm environment.

Thac Ba Lake is one of three Vietnam's largest artificial lakes and famous for the first hydro power plant. Thac Ba Lake is also well-known for its eco-system site. Thac Ba Lake was built in 1970 by the construction of a dam on the Chay River. Thac Ba reservoir covers a total area of 23.400 ha, of which 19.05 ha is water area and the remaining 4.35ha of islets on the Reservoir. This artificial lake has 1,331 islands and hills with various ecological environments. The water in the lake is imprinted with the reflections of the surrounding ancient forest creating a blue and clear background of the water.
