One of the most important lessons travelers learn is that they should work only with trustworthy individuals and companies. Whether it is booking a hotel room, finding a great rental car or securing travel documents, travelers need to be careful.

When it comes to travel documents, it is even more important to exercise caution. After all, not securing the right travel documents could end your trip before it even begins. If you have traveled internationally before, chances are you already have a valid passport, but if you are planning a trip to a more exotic destination, you might find that you need additional documentation, like a valid entry visa.

If you are planning a business trip or family vacation to Vietnam, you probably have a great many questions, including how much the trip is likely to cost and what cities you plan to visit while you are there. You may also have a lot of questions about the entry requirements for the country of Vietnam, and it is important to get those questions answered before you buy your airline tickets, book your hotel and head out to your local airport.

There are a number of ways to get the paperwork you need to enter the country of Vietnam for a business trip or personal vacation. You obviously need a passport to enter the country, and if you have traveled internationally before you probably already have one. But the country of Vietnam imposes a few additional requirements for business and leisure travelers, and it is important to be prepared for those differences.

If you have been planning a business trip or personal vacation to the country of Vietnam, you have probably been doing a lot of research. From the cost of essentials like hotel rooms, meals out and transportation to the must-see sites in each city and town, it is only natural to want to learn as much about your destination as you can.

One thing you will obviously need to know is what kinds of travel documents you will need to enter the country of Vietnam and move around during your vacation or business trip. You obviously need a passport to enter Vietnam, but you also need to have a valid visa to enter the country.

For overseas Vietnamese, we would like to advise you to choose one of the following two ways:

1. Take visa exemption by visiting Vietnam Embassy or Vietnam Consulate. Vietnamese overseas (Viet kieu) are offered Vietnam visa exemption to enter Vietnam. Please directly contact or come in person to the Vietnam Embassy/ Consulate in your area for "visa exemption certificate" then you can enter Vietnam for 90 visa-free days in 5 years.

2. If you travel to Vietnam by air and don’t want to spend your valuable time as well as transportation expenses of chasing down embassy, you are highly advised to apply for visa on arrival at our website.

It’s not good at all when you travel with a passport that will expire during your trip or shortly after your planned return. If it is invalid, please renew your passport before applying your Vietnam visa through us. Please remember to inform us via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to get new approval letter for your visa if you have new passport or you want to change passport details.

Thank you, it’s a good question and we’re glad you asked it.  A visa may allow one entry before its expiration, or it may permit you to enter at various times.

- A single-entry visa may only be used for one entry for the specific purpose for which it was granted. Putting it simply, a single entry visa permits you to enter Vietnam just once during your visa validity. In other words, as long as you leave Vietnam, your visa will be invalid. If you have the need of entering Vietnam for more than 1 time, you will have to apply for a multiple entry visa.
