Foreign nationals about to land at Vietnam are supposed to come up with Vietnam visa certification, added to a valid passport. The Vietnam visa certification is accredited by Vietnam Immigration and confirms a legit stay for the traveler in the foreign land- for a definite time period. The Vietnam visa approval letter is the official recognition to receive visa certification from the Vietnam Immigration.
Difference with visa at embassy or consulate of Vietnam, Visa On Arrival is issued at International airports of Vietnam. Please note that you must have visa approval letter (also called pre-approval letter) from Vietnam Immigration Department then able to get visa on arrival.
On arrival at airports of Vietnam, you will see visa on arrival office (or landing visa counter), hand over your passport, print copy of visa approval letter and ONE passport size photo for attaching on entry form

If you want to get your visa stamped upon arrival, you will need to show:
- Your passport
- Printed visa approval letter
- The entry and exit form (filled in and sign in advance)
- Two passport-sized photos
- Stamping fee: 45 to 65 USD (single entry) or 95USD (multiple entry visa)
